Hattie Louise Roberts

Aug. 28, 1921 — Jan. 5, 2014

Hattie Louise Roberts, 92 of Bakersfield Calif., passed away Jan. 5, 2014.

Louise was born Aug. 28, 1921 in Billingsley, Ala., to Edgar and Dossie Overstreet.

Louise worked for the Travis Unified School District for more than 20 years in school district administration, which included human resources, payroll and being secretary to the district superintendent.

She was in charge of the Valley Baptist Radio Ministry for more than 17 years and supported her husband Charles Roberts in his Sunday school teaching.

She is survived by her brothers, Jack Overstreet and wife Ramona, Tommy Overstreet and wife Ellen; son, Wayne Roberts and wife Vicki; daughter, Karen Gardiner; grandchildren, Jennifer Henn and husband Patrick, Lisa Roberts and husband Keith Nielsen, Amy Roberts, Christopher Bagwell, James Bagwell; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Samuel and Isabella Henn, Edgewood, Corinne and Remy Nielsen, Benjamin Roberts, Kennedy and Maysen Bagwell.

    We were sorry to hear of your mother's death. We know she had the assurance of heaven as her final resting place, what comfort that is. She was a lovely lady and a servant of the Lord. Our prayers are with you all.
