Harold Petrich

Harold Petrich, 90, of Green Valley, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013. Hal was born in Long Beach, Calif. to Anne and Frank Petrich, graduated from Poly High and continued on to Stanford University on a football scholarship.

During World War II, he was inducted into Naval officers training, attending Colorado College and Harvard business school. Hal served in the South Pacific as supply officer for the Navy air supply depot on Samar Island.

Hal returned to Stanford for graduation where he re-met Betty Reimers. They were married in 1947 and recently celebrated their 66th anniversity.

Hal is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Ann; daughter and son-in-law Joan and Rocco Costello; son-in-law David Post; and granddaughters, Lauren and Natalie Post.

Hal was preceded in death by daughter Mary Post.

Hal and Betty were instrumental in the founding of Green Valley Country Club.  Hal was a well-known business man in Vallejo and Fairfield.

Contributions in his memory can be made to the American Cancer Society.

    Betty and family. I'm so sorry to hear of Hal's passing. I hope he was healthy to the end. He was a lovely gentleman and a pleasure to call my friend.

    So sorry to hear of your husband,father, and grandfather.He was a wonderful friend,golfing and Indy 500 traveling partner. we will miss the "Bear"
