Jerry Karr

April 19, 1945 — March 12, 2014

Jerry Karr, native of Vallejo, passed after a valiant, 10-year battle with cancer and C.O.P.D. He died as he lived never losing faith or his sense of humor.

Jerry retired from Exxon Mobile and volunteered with several organizations, always working towards making this world a better place. His passion was bird watching and protecting the environment for everything and everyone. Jerry was a board member, past president and conservation chair of the Napa/Solano Audubon Society. He served three years on the California State Audubon Board of Directors. He was a past president and board member for The Friends of the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge and he was a founding member of the Mare Island Restoration Advisory Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edith and Clifford Karr and his sister Evelyn “Evie” Peck.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Theresa; sons, Clifford (Krista) and Kevin; grandchildren, Ashley, Jeremy, Ian and Elyse; brother, Richard (Madonna) Karr; brother-in-law, Glen Peck; nephews, John Karr (Kathryn), Clifford Peck (Neal), David Peck (Dennis); and nieces, Katie Gerhard (Tom) and Nancy Stobel (Tim).

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Saint Catherine of Siena Church, 3450 Tennessee St., in Vallejo.
