Enrique Velasquez known as “Val” passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, with his wife by his side. He was born on June 9, 1933. Val retired as a senior master sergeant from the Air Force. He had a long career as an electronic technician, working at Don’s TV, Smittys and retired from Sears Roebuck. He enjoyed his family, fishing, golfing, his beautiful garden and taking trips to Cache Creek with his friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Belen, of 58 years; children, Rick Velasquez of Concord, Cindy and Darrell Letterman and Frank Velasquez of Fairfield. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank Hospice and all the staff at La Mariposa and each and everyone for their kindness toward Enrique.
Services will be held 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield. There will be a celebration of life reception following the services.
