Elmar “Lee” Pettit, 74, passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 in Napa.
Lee was born August 17, 1938 in Mississippi to Buie and Vera Pettit. In 1956, he made his way to California. The same year he met the love of his life, Audrey at a Vallejo dance hall. Lee was smitten with the dark hair darling right away. Audrey on the other hand, just wanted to know if he could dance. Well, he must have danced her off her feet because they were married in 1959. They went on to have four children.
Lee believed in hard work and perseverance. He was a jack of all trades both in his professional life and personal life. Lee began his life in California has a laborer. In 1968 he opened his first plumbing shop, North Cal Plumbing. In 1980, North Bay Plumbing, Inc. opened and is still in operation today. Lee was so proud of his plumbing businesses.
Lee loved the outdoors. He could often be found hunting, fishing or disking up his ranch on his tractor.
Lee is survived by his wife, Audrey Pettit of Fairfield; son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Betsy Pettit of Fairfield; daughter, Pamela Pettit of Oroville; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Gary Gardner of Fairfield; grandchildren, Leah Molnar of Vacaville, Staci and Heather Garant of Fairfield, Shane Tilling of Fairfield, Cody and Chyanne Davis of Oroville, Lisa Espinoza of Fairfield, Leslie Pettit of Fairfield, Jody Quesaea of Vacaville and Melanie Pettit of Fairfield; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were held Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012 at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home, 1850 W. Texas St., Fairfield.
