Elizabeth Terry, 76, of Vacaville, passed away on July 23, 2014. Liz was born in Mizpah, New Jersey, on April 20, 1938, to Edna and Edward Walker.
During her youth, she would spend her summer school breaks in Savannah, Ga., with her aunt Daisy, living the life of a true farm girl. She loved her visits and her time spent there is what most likely fostered a lifetime of love and appreciation for gardening. She equally loved growing up in Atlantic City and spent many a day with friends at the Boardwalk and Chicken Bone Beach. She attended Atlantic City High School and Solano Junior College.
Liz met and fell in love with Jackson D. Terry Jr. and, in 1962, they were married. Together, they had three children: Stacey, Bryan, and Jennifer. She was a military wife and, with Terry, moved from New York to Massachusetts and eventually settled in California. She worked as an administrative assistant at the Delta Breeze Club at Travis Air Force Base for more than 32 years. After retirement, she most enjoyed spending her time with family and friends, gardening, doing craft projects and making prank phone calls to family members. She was a joyful and radiant wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She nurtured everyone she knew and could always be counted on to lend a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on.
Liz is survived by her husband, “Terry;” daughters, Stacey (Herman) Robertson and Jennifer Terry; son, Bryan (Nikki) Terry; nine grandchildren, Andrew Robertson, Kristopher “CJ” Robertson, Eisha Felomino, Amaunnie Felomino, Bryan Terry Jr., Bryant Fancher Terry, Alizé Terry, Aja Terry and Amaya Baker; as well as several cherished nieces, nephews and close friends. She has been reunited in heaven with her mother, Edna; father, Edward; brothers, Joseph and Edward “Junior;” and sister, Mary.
Memorial services will be held at McCune Garden Chapel, 212 Main St., Vacaville, at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 30.
