The family of Doyle E. Peebles sadly announces his passing on Dec. 12, 2012, in Fairfield.

He was born in Fort Gibson, Okla. Doyle enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1952. He served on the USS Polk County during the Korean War, 1952-56. Doyle retired from the Teamsters union in 1998.

Doyle was an active member of the Fairfield Moose Lodge for more than 30 years.

Doyle is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kathryn; son, Doyle R.; and three stepsons. Doyle was adored by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles; and sister, Imagene.

Memorial service will be 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 11, 2012, at McCune Mortuary, 212 Main St., Vacaville, followed by military honors service from noon to 1 p.m. at Sacramento Valley Military Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon. Reception to follow at Fairfield Moose Lodge, 623 Taylor St., Fairfield.

    Mr. Peebles and my dad were buddies and worked together. Condolences to family and friends from the Brooks boys. RIP Sir!

    My mother, Christine Clinkenbeard Cawthorne, also from Fort Gibson, went to visit Doyle. Her mom was a Peebles. I go to the Peeble's reunion in Fort Gibson every year. Thinking of you in your time of sorrow. Sandra
