David Ray McKenzie, longtime Chandler, Okla., resident, was born April 23, 1949, in Vallejo, Calif., and died on Aug. 24, 2013, at his home in Chandler, Okla., at the age of 64.
David was the son of Hershel and Laura Mae (Planty) McKenzie. He married Connie Nance on Aug. 5, 1972, in Fairfield, Calif.
David worked for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services as a social worker for many years after owning his own business. He was the head Scout Master for Troop 111 in Chandler, Okla.
His parents preceded David in death.
Survivors include his wife, Connie; sons and daughter-in-law, Reed and Laura McKenzie of Edmond, Okla., and Sean McKenzie of Fort Gordon, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Carole and Ted Martin of Fairfield, Calif.; grandchildren, Jacquelyn McKenzie of Houston, Dayton McKenzie of Edmond, Okla., and Maecy McKenzie of Edmond, Okla.; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial services were held Wednesday, Aug. 28. 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Chandler, Okla., with the Rev. Allen Carson and Tom Wright officiating.
