David Lawrence Stuart, 56, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at NorthBay Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
David was born Sept. 13, 1956, in Fairfield, the son of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Curtis) Stuart. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cynthia; and daughters, Carmen Baker (Lane), Alyson Oien (Kevin) and Chelsea Stuart; and one grandson, Graysen Baker; siblings, Jane Thompson, Ron Stuart, Mary Stuart, Seth Stuart, Christine Knowles, Anne Hicks, Susan Anderson, and Jeb Stuart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth Stuart; and his brother, William Stuart.
David lived his life and raised his family by the Golden Rule, “Treat others the way you want to be treated.” He enjoyed many hobbies such as spending time with his family. Dave was an avid camper, golfer, and sports fan who enjoyed the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. Dave was a health enthusiast, always making smoothies in the Vitamix. He was a great husband, father, grandpa, brother, father-in-law and friend. He will be missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will be private at Rockville Cemetery. The family has asked, because of David’s love of National Parks and being a long-term annual pass holder, that donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to: attn: Rick Frost, National Park Service, Intermountain Regional Office, Denver, 12795 West Alameda Pkwy, Lakewood, CO 80228.
