Clyde “Red” McEveny Gregory, a resident of Fairfield, passed away peacefully at home at age 75. He courageously fought cancer for a year.He was born in Dallas, Texas, to Gleason and Wilda Gregory, and grew up in Mountain View.
Red was a U.S. Air Force veteran and longtime devoted employee of Hadley Auto Transport and a member of the Automotive Industries Union, Local 1173. Red was always upbeat, in a good mood and never held on to anger or a grudge for very long. He loved to cook, so on fishing and hunting trips with his friends, brother and brother-in-laws, he was the designated cook and housekeeper.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sharon; step-children, Jack Davies (Sunnyvale) and Christy Davies (Vacaville); beloved granddaughter Katrina (Jose) Dentino-Reyes; two great-granddaughters as well as many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by brother, Albert (Al) Gregory of Oakdale; sisters, Dixie Francisco of Grass Valley and Jean Gretz of Sunnyvale.
He was preceded in death by his half-sister, Margaret Timbrook; and his only child, Scott Gregory
He will especially be missed by longtime friends, Dick Miletich of Hollister and Mark Brown of Vacaville.
