Oct. 14, 1944 — July 24, 2014

Clifford was born in Susanville, Calif., and moved to Suisun City shortly thereafter, where his father served as the chief of police.

Clifford lived in the same home for more than 60 years. He was an active member of the community, serving the city of Suisun City as a city councilman and the mayor pro-tem. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the city. Clifford also served as a reservist and an active duty member of the United States Air Force. He worked in the safety sales and real estate fields.

Clifford is survived by his wife of 49 years, Kerry Hemler; sister, Frances Rotz ; daughter and son-in-law Jodie and Ton Phan; son, Jason Hemler; and four grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014, at Parkway Community Church, 2397 Heath Drive, Fairfield, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Leaven Project, 2397 Heath Drive, Fairfield Calif. 94533.

    Another Suisun City boyhood friend who's passed on but will always be remembered for the early times growing up in 1950's and 1960's... Rest-in-Peace my Friend . . .

    Will echo Davids comment and add that we had a lot of good times growing up. From little league baseball to 4th of July celebrations in Suisun to bar hopping in Suisun City durning the 80's, to selling me a house in 08. He was also a brother member of local DeMolay chapter. Cliff has always been known for his big grin and laugh Will miss you mate, rest well.

    Very saddened to receive news of Cliff's passing while we were away. He was a fixture in Suisun City, and loved it dearly. Cliff always had a joke or three to tell, always the first volunteer fireman to get to the fire truck when the siren blew; a great hand at BBQ, and a genuinely nice guy. He will be missed.
