After a long illness, Christina May Dame, 81, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014, at her residence.
Christina was born Sept. 13, 1932, in New Kimble, England, to parents William and Helen Evans. On Aug. 25, 1975, she united in marriage with Leroy S. Dame. All three preceded her in death.
Christina was a Solano County resident for 47 years. She maintained her British humor and enjoyed gardening (particularly her roses), nature (watching the birds feed at her window was a special joy) as well as bingo and word searches.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Rodgers of Fairfield; her special little buddy and youngest grandson, Xander Rodgers of Fairfield Calif.; sons, Frank Rodgers of Fairfield, Calif., and Edward Rodgers of Star, Idaho; stepdaughters, Sandra Dame and Linnea Determann; grandson, Jason Determann, all of Nevada, and Sheri Hill of Washington; stepson, Michael Dame of Hawaii; 10 more grandchildren; sisters, Patricia Locker and Lorraine O’Callaghan, both of England, and Helen Thompson of Australia; and brother, Robert Shewan of England.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Scotty Rodgers; stepson, Eugene Dame of Fairfield Calif.; sisters, June Evans and Margaret Brown of England; and brother, Peter Evans of England.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at New Life Church in Vacaville, Calif. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, Christina would have preferred roses planted in a garden and/or donations made in her memory to The American Lung Association, 105 Astrid Dive, Pleasant Hill, Calif., 94523.
