Carlos, 56, of Fairfield, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, in his native country in Cali, Colombia.

Carlos, who had recently retired from United Airlines after 25-plus hard-working years, was a charming and charismatic man that was passionate about life itself. He was patiently awaiting the 2014 World Cup to root on his Colombian team and to teach those around him the sport he loved. His smile and positive energy will be missed by all those that encountered him.

His most rewarding roles were as Papi and Welo to his two lovely daughters, Lorena Wiggs and Sophia Peña; and four amazing grandchildren, Jordan Andre (11), Amaya Jade (5), Natalia Leilani (4) and Jovanni Xavier (10 months). He is also survived by his father, Carlos Arturo; brothers, Arnubio, Edgar and Diego; many loving nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Aura.

His daughters want to wish their angel and No. 1 fan a Happy Father’s Day, and would also like to thank everyone for their continued love, support and prayers during the most difficult time in their lives.
