Carl McCarley, 73 of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at home.

He was born Oct. 2, 1940, in Oklahoma City, Okla., the son of the late Hershell McCarley and the late Irene (Gunter) McCarley.

Carl enlisted with the United States Air Force and retired as an administrative tech sergeant in June 1978, after 20 years of service, at Travis Air Force Base. He moved to Fairfield in 1976 and enjoyed playing tennis and going bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Jannette; daughters, Mona (Ben) and Jeri (David); grandchildren, Jannette (Alfonso), Stephanie (Michael), Benny and Jacob; sister, Jeri (Joe) Leon.

Military services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon.
