Bernice Ellen ‘Engell’ Weigel

Bernice Ellen (Engell) Weigel passed away Sept. 3, 2012 at North Bay Medical Center in Fairfield after a brief illness.

Bernice was born to Arthur and Verna Engell, Sr. of Birds Landing Calif., on January 5, 1930.  She lived in Hayward for over 50 years and returned to Fairfield in 2005.  She attended local schools and graduated from Armijo High School in 1948.

Bernice loved her many nieces and nephews and claimed them all as her own kids. She loved to frequent Cache Creek and regularly played Lotto.  She truly loved everyone and if you were fortunate to meet her, she became your friend forever.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wally; daughter, Cheryl and granddaughter, Carrie; her mother and father. She is survived and missed by her sister, Gloria Garcia; brother, Art Engell; her abundance of nieces, nephews and many, many friends.

Services were held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon on Sept. 11, 2012. Bernice was put to rest alongside her husband, Wally.
