Benito S. Barajas, 80, of Fairfield, died on Monday, July 27, 2009.
Benito was born on March 21, 1929 in Serene, Colo. and came to Fairfield in 1947.
Benito worked as a groundskeeper at Rockville Cemetery for 12 years. He enjoyed his family and gardening. He was also a long time member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Benito was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Genoveva Barajas; his daughter, Antonia; and his great grandson, Xavier Lopez.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosa; his children, Hidalia and Steven Gilliam, Lydia Barajas, David and Eutiquia Barajas, Benito Jr. and Mary Barajas, and Miguel and Kendra Barajas. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
A visitation is planned from 5 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, July 29, with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m., at Bryan-Braker Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 30, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church followed by a committal service at Rockville Cemetery.

    Grandpa you were the best grandfather I i have ever had and i will miss you forever.You will be in my heart forever.We had so much memories like swinging on the swing and eating ice cream togeather.Help me thru middle school i love you drandpa. love, kaylee
