Arthur Pickle

Aug. 21, 1932 — April 6, 2014

Arthur B. Pickle passed away April 6, 2014, after a brief illness. Our beloved father, husband, papa and friend has gone home to Jesus.

Arthur was born Aug. 21, 1932, to Tressie Treece and Arthur V. Pickle in Fort Smith, Ark.

Arthur retired as a commissary officer from Mare Island, Calif. He was a longtime resident of Fairfield and had many friends. He was always willing to lend a hand, tell a joke or give a smile. Arthur’s greatest passion in life was his family and his devotion to his wife, Pina. Arthur was known as a wise, generous, happy and content man. He will be greatly missed by all the people whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pina Pickle (Fairfield); brother, Alan McDaniel; son, Jerry Amsler; daughters, Karen Ayers and Debra Hadwinger of Oklahoma, Julie Pickle-York and Angel Solis (Napa, Calif.); several nieces and nephews; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joanne Bruce; and brother, Duane Pickle.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, Calif. 95620.

Arrangements under the care of Fairfield Funeral Home, 1750 Pennsylvania Ave., Fairfield, Calif. 94533.

    I love you so much papa you are so missed, you are such a amazing man and wonderful papa to all of us without you it doesn't feel real i know that we will see you again and until then i miss you every sec of the day!!
