VACAVILLE — Authorities identified the victim of a deadly car accident early this week on eastbound Interstate 80 as Fairfield resident Dara Edell, 58.

Edell was killed shortly after noon Monday after the car she was driving drifted off the highway, hit an embankment and flipped over onto Bella Vista Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The 2000 Honda Accord was traveling east in the third lane when it started making jerking motions and then drifted off the side of the highway. It hit an embankment, tore out a small tree, flipped completely over and came to rest on its wheels on the 200 block of Bella Vista.
