VACAVILLE — Local veterans will again host their community Christmas Eve Day dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 24 at the Vacaville Veterans Memorial Hall, with ham, turkey and all the fixings as well as a noontime visit from Santa Claus to give toys to local children.
The veterans will also make deliveries to those who phone in their requests for a Christmas meal.
Volunteers will be on hand from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays through Dec. 23 to accept registration for volunteers to help prepare, serve and deliver the meals. Those who plan to volunteer should sign up as early as possible, as there is a limit on the number of volunteers needed.
To request deliveries, volunteer or make donations, call the Veterans Hall at 447-6354. It is advisable to call first to ensure the veterans are available to accept donations.
Cash donations will be accepted any time. Checks should be made out to DAV Chapter No. 84, 549 Merchant St., Vacaville, CA 95688.
