VACAVILLE — City residents will have two chances this week to give input on the city’s General Plan update.
The city’s planning staff is scheduled to have office hours from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Ulatis Cultural Center Library, 1020 Ulatis Drive.
Staff will be available to answer questions, accept comment cards and discuss the General Plan update with anyone who would like to speak directly with staff in an informal setting.
The Planning Commission will have a public hearing Tuesday to accept public comments on the draft Environmental Impact Report associated with the General Plan. That hearing is part of the commission’s regular meeting, which starts at 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers, 650 Merchant St.
Public comments on the draft environmental impact report are due by 5 p.m. Wednesday.
While the General Plan update isn’t expected to be completed until the spring, the environmental review is due earlier because the city is required to respond to each comment in writing.
The draft General Plan and related documents – the environmental impact report and energy conservation action strategy – are available online at www.vacavillegeneralplan.org and at www.cityofvacaville.com. Hard copies are available at the Ulatis Cultural Center Library; the Town Square Library, 1 Town Square Place; and at the city’s Community Development Department at City Hall.
