VACAVILLE — A vehicle fire in a garage Tuesday was put out before spreading to the rest of the home.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on the 2100 block of Newcastle Drive in Vacaville. Battalion Chief Jeff Ryder said he wasn’t sure how the vehicle fire started.

Ryder said a resident heard popping noises coming from the garage, opened the connecting door to the home and noticed the fire. By the time crews arrived, the fire had spread to a small portion of a nearby wall, Ryder said. He said the inside of the home suffered some smoke damage as well.

All those in the home got out safely and no one was injured, Ryder said.
