VACAVILLE — The Vacaville City Council will meet Tuesday, more than a month after its last meeting, to consider annexing a former school site into the city so a developer can build there.
A public hearing is scheduled on proposed annexation of property near the Nut Tree Airport for a residential development.
The developer’s plans for an 11-acre former school site did not match proper use under the Nut Tree Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan, according to staff reports. The developer, North Village Development, asked that the city annex the property so it would fall under the city’s General Plan guidelines instead.
With the proposed annexation comes the creation of a special tax district to pay for emergency services to the new residences.
Council members typically meet just once in July before resuming the regular biweekly meeting schedule. Tuesday’s meeting is set to begin with a closed session to deal with labor negotiations with city employees, before going into open session.
