VACAVILLE — If you are interested in helping Vacaville revive its economic development campaign, the city is looking for members for its new Economic Development Committee.

It was created last week to establish economic development proposals for City Council consideration that would help the city create a more business-friendly environment, provide more jobs for Vacaville residents and bring more revenue into city coffers.

The council appointed Mayor Steve Hardy and Councilman Curtis Hunt to the committee Tuesday. It is looking for two local business representatives, one from the local building industry, two from local professional economic development groups, two from the community at large and one from the tourism or retail area.

Those interested can pick up application forms from www.cityofvacaville.com under the City Government/Economic Development Committee tab. The deadline for applications is Jan. 8, 2013. Interviews and committee selection will occur at the Jan. 8, 2013, City Council meeting.
