VACAVILLE — Nails on Interstate 80 forced temporary lane closures Saturday afternoon, as crews worked to clear the debris.

California Highway Patrol Officer William Ogilvie said there were reports about 3:15 p.m. of one or more nails found in some of the westbound lanes near the Peña Adobe offramp.

The California Department of Transportation issued a sigalert about 3:30 p.m. announcing that the three right lanes were blocked because of spilled nails on the roadway.

Responders dispatched a sweeper and cleared it up, Ogilvie said.

All lanes reopened at 4:17 p.m., he said.
