VACAVILLE — Police are looking for the owner of a gray zippered bag that was mistaken Thursday evening for an explosive device.
A suspicious package in the parking lot of the Brenden Theatres in Vacaville caused a stir after a recruiter from a nearby military recruiting office discovered it under his government-issued vehicle.
The recruiter found the bag under the vehicle around 5:31 p.m. and told authorities that it was not there when he parked the car at 3 p.m. Officers set up a perimeter and the Yolo County Bomb Squad was called in to investigate.
The bomb squad took X-rays of the bag and determined it did not contain explosives, but rather a medical breathing device.
To claim the device, call Vacaville police at 449-5200.
