VACAVILLE — A three-vehicle crash left one car on its side on westbound Interstate 80 just west of Pena Adobe Road, but left no one seriously injured.
California Highway Patrol Officer M. Crist – he declined to give his first name – said the accident occurred just after 8:30 p.m. when a white Dodge Caliber and a white Toyota Corolla were traveling in the far left lane.
Crist said his preliminary investigation showed that the Dodge’s driver tried to pass the Corolla on the right and as the Dodge moved back into the left lane, it clipped the front end of the Corolla, causing both to swerve left into the barrier and the Corolla to roll onto its passenger side, coming to rest facing east in the leftmost lane.
A Toyota Tundra pickup truck, towing a motorcycle on a trailer, then hit the Corolla head on, Crist said.
A female occupant of the Corolla had minor injuries to her arm, but did not need to be transported, Crist said.
The accident happened at the speed limit. All four people involved were wearing their seat belts.
Crist said the freeway was briefly closed as CHP righted the Corolla and moved it to the right-hand shoulder.
