Mustangs & More air show changes date

VACAVILLE — The annual Mustangs & More air show at the Nut Tree Airport in Vacaville has changed its dates from its traditional mid-October date to Aug. 9, according to an announcement from air show director Larry Smigla.

The date was changed because of a scheduling conflict with the Watsonville Air Show, which is scheduled Oct. 11 and 12.

In the past, the Mustangs & More air show has brought in dozens of historic military and vintage civilian aircraft that have included the World War II-era P-51 Mustang fighter, the Curtiss P-40E Warhawk fighter, the Russian Yak-9 and Yak-11 fighters, and the Grumman FM-2 Navy fighter.

The event has been sponsored by the Jimmy Doolittle Air and Space Museum Foundation and has in past years raised money for the Travis Air Force Base Heritage Center.
