VACAVILLE — A 38-year-old man from Winters was killed Saturday evening after he drove off narrow, rural Gibson Canyon Road north of Vacaville.

He swerved off the road in his white Chevrolet Monte Carlo at about 7 p.m. for unknown reasons,  California Highway Patrol Sgt. Chris Linehan said, pointing out the skid marks on the pavement. The car hit a small tree, a trailer and a parked limousine.

It came to rest on its roof near the road. CHP did not release the identity of the man pending notification of kin.

The accident took place on the 7100 block of Gibson Canyon Road. The California Highway Patrol closed one lane in the wake of the accident. Tow trucks stood by after 8 p.m. waiting to remove the car.
