VACAVILLE — People can take part in a nature walk at the county’s Lake Solano park and learn about the various birds that call the lake and park home.
The walk is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. It begins at the nature center at 8685 Pleasants Valley Road. The walk is free, but there is a parking fee.
Barbara Cooper will lead the walk and share why the area is a magnet for both year-round species as well as migratory birds. She’ll also share “bird lore,” such as how birds have figured in myths and religions of the world.
Heavy rain will cancel the walk. For more information during the week, call 432-0150, ext. 200. For same-day information, call 530-795-2990.
