VACAVILLE — A driver of a car on westbound Interstate 80 in Vacaville early Tuesday morning suffered major injuries after changing lanes and hitting a big rig.

The incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. at the Leisure Town Road interchange. The driver of the Honda Civic, 21-year-old Morgan Morrell of Fairfield, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and driving without a license. She was released to the care of Kaiser’s Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, California Highway Patrol Officer Chris Parker said.

Two lanes got closed by the accident for a half-hour. The driver of the big rig also went to the Kaiser’s Vacaville hospital with complaints of pain, Parker said.
