VACAVILLE — An early Sunday morning, residential fire destroyed a garage and a pickup truck parked in the driveway.

The Vacaville Fire Department at 3:46 a.m. received a call that a fire was underway at 243 Hemlock St. Firefighters extinguished the fire in about 26 minutes.

“It was stopped at the garage,” Battalion Chief Phil Sanner said. “The home was relatively untouched.”

Sanner estimated the damage at $100,000 to $150,000. No one was injured. The cause of the fire as of Sunday afternoon was still under investigation, he said.

Although the residents might technically be able to still live in the house, they received help with shelter from the Red Cross, he said.
