VACAVILLE — A two-vehicle crash Tuesday on eastbound Interstate 80 in Vacaville sent one person to the hospital, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP got the first call about the accident between a Toyota Corolla and a Honda Civic at 7:08 p.m., reporting that the vehicles were blocking the center lanes at the Interstate 505 connector.
One vehicle was facing sideways and the other was moved to the center divider, according to the CHP’s Traffic Management Center.
Responding emergency crews blocked the three left lanes as they waited for ambulances and tow trucks. A traffic alert went out at 7:30 p.m.
One vehicle was drivable and the other was towed – both vehicles suffered moderate damage, the CHP said.
An occupant of one of the vehicles was transported to an area hospital, the CHP said, though the extent of the person’s injuries was not known.
Two lanes were reopened at 7:40 p.m. and the last lane stayed closed until 8:15 p.m.
