VACAVILLE — Traffic was slowed and a vehicle burned Sunday evening on eastbound Interstate 80 near Midway Road when an older-model car caught fire and burned.
“(The driver) said he was driving and the wheel came off when he tried to go over one of the transitions in the construction area,” said Dixon Fire Capt. James Franceschi. “It started dragging on the ground and caught fire.”
Franceschi said the car was fully engulfed by the time his crew and one from Vacaville Fire arrived at about 5:20 p.m.. He said there were no injuries, but the car was lost.
