Brown reappoints Vacaville man to post

VACAVILLE — Gov. Jerry Brown reappointed Vacaville resident Robert Weist III, 51, to the California Volunteers Commission.

Weist has served on the commission since 2013. Weist has been captain at the Davis Fire Department since 2012 and has been with the department since 1985. He was a field representative at Carroll Burdick and McDonough from 1999 to 2007, a Brown press release said.

This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation. Weist is a Democrat, the press release said.
