VACAVILLE — Ken Waldman, known as Alaska’s Fiddling Poet, will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 21, 2014, at the Vacaville Performing Arts Theatre, 1010 Ulatis Drive.
He will be joined by fellow Appalachian-style music men Kevin Carr and Ray Bierl at the benefit for the Solano County Library Foundation.
Waldman draws on his 25 years in Alaska to produce poems, stories and fiddle tunes that combine into a performance that has been described as “old-style, down-home Appalachian fiddle music, poetry and storytelling.”
Since 1995 he’s toured full-time, performing at some of the nation’s leading universities, festivals, arts centers and clubs.
A former college professor, Waldman has had published six full-length poetry collections, a memoir, a children’s book and has released nine CDs.
Waldman will conduct a poetry writers’ workshop Feb. 22 at Bounty Books, 877 Merchant St. in Vacaville. For information, call 451-4770.
