SUISUN CITY — Challenger Lori Wilson has raised more than either incumbent in the race for City Council.
Wilson raised $5,486 in the latest filing period, while Sam Derting brought in $4,550 and Mike Segala posted a total of $1,049.
The numbers are from the period of July 1 to Sept. 30. The filing deadline was Friday, but an office closure that day and a holiday Monday had some reports delayed.
Wilson’s total for the election is now $7,960. The biggest donation of the last period was a payment from herself of $2,500, which is traditionally listed as a loan. Her contributors were a mixture of trade unions and individual donors.
She received $250 donations from Marion Burts of Los Angeles, IBEW Local 180 of Napa, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 5 of San Jose and Teamsters Local 315 of Martinez.
Next was Derting, who relied heavily on loans and donations from his wife and business. Nancy Derting made a loan of $2,000 and also donated $1,000. Another donation of $1,000 was made by Railroad Avenue Self Storage, a business the Dertings own. Of the remaining few donors, the IBEW Local 180 gave $250. Derting had no balance before the last filing period and sits at $4,550 total.
Segala listed only four donors, along with $249 in contributions less than $100. For the remaining funds, he received $500 from Erroil Hill as well as $100 from Fairfield Mayor Harry Price, Vacaville Mayor Steve Hardy and Gary Falati. He sits at a total of $1,049.
