SUISUN CITY — Salvation Army Solano County coordinator Capt. Jonathan Harvey, Suisun Police Department Chief Ed Dadisho and several members of the Salvation Army Kroc Center Advisory Board will walk 10 miles on treadmills Saturday at the Kroc Center.

Participants are fulfilling a fundraising commitment in which they promised to walk the 10 miles in order to send 100 Solano County youngsters to Camp Del Oro summer camp in Nevada City.

More than $25,000 has been raised by the board members and several Kroc Center staff, including Harvey. The goal is $30,000, with the hopes of reaching that total Saturday. The money will be used to create camp scholarships.

The Salvation Army’s Camp Del Oro is a residential camp that offers five days of educational programs, arts and crafts, sports and other outdoor activities. Last year, The Salvation Army sent nearly 120 Solano County children to summer camp.

The walking begins at 8 a.m. For more information, call 439-7880.
