SUISUN CITY — Police encountered no violations in a tobacco sting operation conducted Thursday at nine Suisun City businesses.

The police department conducts alcohol and tobacco sting operations several times a year, according to a news release. The targeted businesses are selected at random, or as a result of violation complaints and the stings are done to ensure compliance with licensing requirements and state law.

In Thursday’s sting, all nine businesses refused to sell tobacco to an underage decoy, according to police.

To report illegal sales of alcohol or tobacco to minors or for more information about the sting operations, call Officer Lindsey Sanford at 421-7373.
