SUISUN CITY — The Suisun City Police Department continues its relentless war on motorcycle accidents and the people who cause them on Thursday and on Aug. 29.
Inspired by funding from the California Office of Traffic Safety, Suisun police are continuing what has become an ongoing series of crackdowns on those driving vehicles and motorcycles who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, speeding, making illegal turns or committing any other dangerous violation.
Officers will be patrolling areas frequented by motorcyclists and where motorcycle crashes have occurred. From 2008 through 2010, 17 people were injured in accidents involving motorcycles in Suisun City. From 2011 to 2012, nine people were injured in such accidents.
Suisun City police ask all motorists to be always alert and watch out for motorcycles, especially when changing lanes or turning.
