SUISUN CITY — The city will soon become a member of the local chamber of commerce.
Council members on Tuesday told city staff to improve the city’s relations with the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce by paying for a membership with the organization.
A council majority two years ago told staff to drop the city’s membership in the Fairfield-Suisun Chamber of Commerce, which cost $1,000 a year. Then-Councilman Sam Derting and current Councilman Mike Segala wanted the city to stay in the chamber and have since paid $460 in a business level membership for the city.
Two weeks ago, a chamber delegation approached the council and a new council majority voiced its support for the city to pay for its own membership again.
