SUISUN CITY — Rush Ranch open space in Suisun Marsh will host a free astronomy night on Sept. 7.
Local astronomy enthusiast Jim Jerrell will begin the evening at 7:30 p.m. with a presentation in the Rush Ranch Nature Center. Participants will then move outside to view the sky through telescopes at about 8:45 p.m.
Participants should bring warm clothing and might want to bring mosquito repellant. They should cover flashlights with red cellophane that will be available at the event. Latecomers should dim their headlights, an event press release said.
Rush Ranch open space is located on Grizzly Island Road about two miles south of Highway 12 in Suisun City. The Rush Ranch Educational Council and the Solano Land Trust, owners of Rush Ranch, are hosting the program.
