SUISUN CITY — The Suisun City council will hold a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to vote on whether to extend the Main Street West Disposition and Development Agreement.
Main Street West is a real estate development firm based in Suisun City. It specializes in retail, office, mixed-use and residential projects in Northern California.
In 2005, Main Street West Partners was selected as the master developer of the Main Street West Project, which included 13 properties in the waterfront district on about 8.4 acres of land in Suisun City.
A 120-day extension was approved in January. It was followed by a 60-day extension approved in June.
The Main Street West Partners filed a complaint on Feb. 11 with Solano County Superior Court asking the court to validate the continued enforcement of the development agreement.
The case was moved in May from Solano to Sacramento Superior Court.
Negotiations continued between (Suisun City) staff and Main Street Partners, according to a city staff report.
However, on July 14, the state’s attorney general’s office filed a demurrer in Sacramento County Superior Court. The hearing is Oct. 2, which will likely delay consideration of a settlement agreement by the court until after the hearing, which is past the deadline of the most recent extension.
A closed session will follow the meeting.
Both are in the city council chambers at 701 Civic Center Blvd.
