SUISUN CITY — Local comic book artists Richard Zerga, Nicki Zerga and Marcus Clawson will be among almost a dozen local artists who will show off their work and sign autographs at Saturday’s Free Comic Book Day at Waterfront Comics in Suisun City.

The local comic book store will also raise money through a raffle for St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a nonprofit organization that battles childhood cancer.

There will also be face-painting, popcorn and sno-cones at the event, which is being podcast by indie comic website Panda Manga on www.pandamanga.com.

Free Comic Book Day is hosted by comic book stores across the country to promote comic book reading and give away special editions of comic books written for the event. The Suisun City event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Waterfront Comics, 609 Main St. in Suisun City.
