FAIRFIELD — Veterans’ gravesites will be decorated for the season during the annual wreath-laying event Saturday at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
The event includes an hour-long program that begins at 9 a.m., followed by distribution of wreaths to honor each fallen veteran buried at the cemetery.
Those who wish to take part are encouraged to arrive early for parking. The event will take place rain or shine. Wreaths will be supplied and all ages welcome.
The Wreath Project has been adorning veterans’ graves with wreaths since 2006, when organizers bought and placed 300 wreaths. The Wreath Project has since been able to get enough wreaths to make the Solano County site one of the few veterans cemeteries to be able to put a wreath on every grave.
