FAIRFIELD — State Sen. Lois Wolk, D-Davis brought in more than $70,000 in contributions for the most recent filing period, but it appears her opponent Frank Miranda may have missed the deadline.
Wolk and Miranda are squaring off in the 3rd Senate District race. Fundraising totals for the period between July 1 and Sept. 30 were due Friday and have been posted on the website of the Secretary of the State.
When asked why his totals weren’t included, Miranda, of Fairfield, said he hadn’t signed any of the paperwork yet and had to talk with his staff about whether his financial statements had been submitted by the deadline.
Wolk received $70,780 during the period, bringing her total to $189,320. The write-in Republican candidate’s total as of the June primary was $21,630.
Leaning on labor unions, large corporations and a number of agriculture groups, Wolk brought in donations both big and small. The largest was the California Real Estate PAC of Los Angeles with $6,000 and another for $4,000 by the Northern California Carpenters Regional Council of Oakland.
She secured donations of $3,900 from the Electrical Workers Local 595 of Dublin, California State Council of Laborers of Sacramento and the California Dental PAC of Sacramento.
