Tidal Marsh Tour on Rush Ranch calendar

Residents are invited to explore Rush Ranch on an educational guided walk with tidal marsh docent Bill Oliver from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

Hikers will learn about Rush Ranch and why it’s locally loved and nationally famous, according to a press release. Rush Ranch is located on the Suisun Marsh, the largest contiguous brackish water marsh remaining on the West Coast.

The hike is free and children 7 and older are encouraged to attend with grownups. It is rated mild to moderate, with only slight elevation changes and some uneven ground. There is no preregistration required and if weather is uncertain the day of the tour, call Oliver at 207-9938 to confirm the hike.

Bring water, snacks, sturdy closed-toe shoes, layered clothing and protection from the elements. Meet Oliver in the brick courtyard and native plant garden next to the Nature Center exhibit.

Rush Ranch is at 3521 Grizzly Island Road, about 2 miles south of Highway 12.
