The week aheadFAIRFIELD — Tax help is available by appointment from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays at the Fairfield Senior Center. Call 428-7421 to make an appointment.

Taxpayers should bring their income tax documents, Social Security cards or ITIN numbers for family members, child care provider information if needed for the Child Care Tax Credit and a voided check if they want a direct deposit for their refund.

Last year, 107 volunteers helped 4,157 low-income families file their taxes. That resulted in $4 million in refunds coming to the county, an event press release said.
