FAIRFIELD — A suspicious package forced law enforcement to shut down a freeway connector ramp in Vallejo, causing traffic delays for several hours Thursday.
The eastbound Highway 37 connector ramp to Highway 29 was closed as the Travis Air Force Base Ordnance Disposal Team inspected the package. The California Highway Patrol said the package was sitting on a sign and tested negative for explosives.
The package was initially reported to Vallejo police at 5:47 p.m. The lanes reopened at 9:24 p.m.
