Summertime Fill the Barrel Food Drive ends Thursday

The week aheadFAIRFIELD — America’s Tire Co. and The Salvation Army are hosting a Summertime Fill the Barrel Food Drive through Thursday.

People can bring nonperishable food, such as canned meats, soups, vegetables and fruits, peanut butter, pasta, beans, rice and cereal, to America’s Tire Co. store at 1340 E. Monte Vista Ave. in Vacaville.

The Salvation Army served nearly 6.4 million meals last year and helped more than 2 million people in California, said a press release from The Salvation Army.
