FAIRFIELD — A stalled bus in the westbound Interstate 80 offramp to Highway 12 at Red Top Road made for a slow commute to Napa County on Tuesday morning.
The stalled tour bus backed up traffic on I-80 from Red Top Road into central Fairfield at Travis Boulevard. The bus stalled at about 5 a.m. and didn’t get moved until about 7:30 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol issued a traffic alert and advised motorist to use Highway 37 to travel to Highway 29 in Napa County. American Canyon Road also provided an alternate route.
According to the CHP website, the bus had its brakes locked with no air, causing delays in moving it. A tow truck finally moved the bus. Highway 12 through Jameson Canyon is the major link between central Solano County and Napa County.
